Camp Hill, Round 1 of the Nutcracker 2010
Round 1 at Camp Hill went off like a rocket, well a damp and muddy rocket to be honest. After weeks of persistent rain the previously fast course had become a bit sticky to say the least and with around 200 riders slipping and sliding around it soon became a bit of a challenge just to ride.
Still, most seemed to have a good ride and comments were very positive.
Round 2, Aske Estate, is looking fantastic and we know you will love it. Online pre-entry is now open: www.nutcrackermtb.co.uk
Dalby 2010 MTB XCO World Cup Weekend

The last weekend in April (23rd – 25th) sees the 2010 Cross Country UCI World Cup come to Dalby Forest. To make this event something special, a full weekend of racing and entertainment has been put together. We are working with British Cycling on the support races for the weekend including the Dalby Dash and the Pro Sprint Eliminator.
The fun starts on friday 23rd April in Pickering town centre (just along from Dalby forest) at 6pm with a Pro Sprint Eliminator race around and through the town centre. When we say through, thats exactly what we mean, the course blasts its way around the streets, past churches, along the train platform and through a pub!
Over the course of the evening the riders will battle their way through a number of eliminator rounds, needing to place in the first two every time to make it through to the final. With all different kinds of man-made obstacles on the course the man and woman who take the final victory will be truly worthy of their big cash prize. You meanwhile can take the opportunity to enjoy the rest of the evening in one of Yorkshire’s most picturesque towns as we celebrate the official opening of the 2010 UCI Mountain Bike Cross-Country World Cup in Yorkshire.
The cross country racing gets underway on Saturday morning with the Junior men and women taking to the course to show how it’s done. They’ll no-doubt attract an appreciative (and inquisitive) crowd as once these races are done and dusted 350 members of the general public will get to have their own World Cup challenge as they ride two loops of an extended version of the world cup course.
The final day of racing in the forest sees the opening Elite rounds of the 2010 UCI Mountain Bike Cross-Country World Cup in Yorkshire take place with first the women and then the men competing to see who will be the first leaders of the competition – a fitting climax to what everyone hopes will be a first class weekend of world class racing.
Alongside the racing and participation there will be plenty to keep spectators entertained, from the team tech area for those keen to get behind the scenes through to an exhibition and retail village and food zone to keep eyes and bellies occupied for the duration of the event.
Keep checking back to this website for more details about the event including details of how to enter the World Cup Challenge.
